Title – Account Manager
Location – North India

SUMMARY
The Account Manager (AM) serves as a positive role model to team members and works collaboratively to supervise and develop teams, manage accounts, support new business goals, and drive client service and program objectives. The AM demonstrates expertise in team management, business management, strategic thinking, account management, client service, media relations, social/digital engagement and writing/content marketing strategy. The AM also demonstrates an aptitude to manage multiple projects. The AM understands the agency’s portfolio of clients and service offerings, as well as how to apply them. The AM is significantly involved with clients as the day-to-day and has some interaction with new business prospects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management/Leadership
• Assist in managing and developing teams (IAPs and cross-teams), including employee career path, professional development, coaching/mentoring, performance skills and issues; proactively work with multiple managers
• Assist account director and account portfolio lead (VP) in managing/growing account portfolio, with some fiscal responsibility (profit/loss)
• Support sales teams new business priorities and specific new business goals/deliverables
• Assist management team with staffing and account tools – staffing mix, account over/under, account utilization, account bill review reports, WIP reports, cycle planning, etc.
• Strategically execute client work and day-to-day client service and management

Client Service
• Serve as the day-to-day manager on accounts, with responsibility for overall account management
• Manage client relationship and account team
• Manage account strategy, planning and creative campaigns
• Manage client planning, budgeting, metrics
• Ensure client satisfaction through service, high-quality work product and high ASQ (annual survey of quality) scores
• Seek opportunities to integrate additional account services
• Manage the timely delivery of program elements
• Understand and articulate client history and business objectives
• Share updates, best practices and challenges/solutions within team meetings and on clients calls
• Address account service issues, or escalate as needed to AD/VP (client service challenges, program/scope changes, client business issues, crisis communications, etc.)

Media/Influencer Relations
• Demonstrate and manage relationships with reporters and influencers
• Manage teams to cultivate and maintain media/influencer relationships and be creative storytellers
• Uncover news opportunities and trends to offer up to account team and client
• Manage media relations plans and campaigns
• Be a strong storyteller, and develop and place stories in business, trade and consumer media, featuring desired key themes, messages and tonality
• Use social/digital media tools to execute campaign initiatives and work with team to enhance skills
• Serve as client media relations representative
• Provide media coaching, preparation and assessment/feedback to spokespeople and work with team on media training skills

Writing/Content Development

• Consistently demonstrate high level of strategic writing (content and mechanics) and editing skills
• Demonstrate ability to write strategic plans, new business plans, messaging, bylines, speeches, news releases, blog posts, pitches, etc. appropriate for target audiences
• Demonstrate ability to delegate, manage and review content projects

Research
• Have an understanding of data collection and evaluation
• Identify and use research for client programs and strategies
• Manage research initiatives
• Write summaries and extract insight from data

Administration
• Maintain timely activity reports
• Strong time management skills
• Adhere to consistent, judicious time entry
• Manage agency utilization targets

• Solid leadership skills
• Strong relationship building
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities to express ideas clearly and confidently
• Ability to negotiate effectively and manage budgets
• Knowledge of the high-tech, online and/or consumer industries
• Consistently demonstrate a high-level of attention to detail
• Solid presentation and media training skills
• Ability to interact effectively and collaborate with all agency departments
• Professional appearance and manner

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a concentration in public relations, communications or journalism
• Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) preferred
• 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably with agency experience
• Aligns with the Airfoil values of service, accountability, learning, fun, collaboration and leadership
• The ability to do up to 25% travel as needed
• Manage team’s PTO and OOF
